Determining Time of Disk Failure for SmartArray 6400
How can you determine when a disk in a RAID5 set actually failed? We are not running HP SIM. I thought that there was an array diagnostics utility that kept a log of disk related events and warnings such as battery low, etc. But I can not find info on this.
The failure occurred several weeks ago. We have a hot spare, and it switched to that. Then the bad disk was replaced. I am wanting to know if I can determine when the disk actually failed and how long the system ran in degraded mode.
This is a Proliant ML370 running Linux RedHat AS 2.1 with SmartArray 6402 controllers.
