Diagnostics for EVA3000

Hi,

Is there a procedure/document that outlines a diagnostic process for an EVA3000? We have one that has had a few (apparently) unconnected errors (disk fault, power fault) and I would like to do a general health check on the array, if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Diagnostics for EVA3000

Hi,

from admin point of view, all currently odd things should be visible in Command View. All yellow or red parts (marked with exclamation mark) aren't ok.

You can examine Management Agent Event Log, Controller Event log and Controller Termination Event Log, where all odd things which have happend should be found. Click on desired EVA in CV and choose [View Events] in right part of window.

I don't know if some health check procedure exists, have never used any.

You can also install and configure WEBES, or set SNMP traps in command view.

Re: Diagnostics for EVA3000

I think there is something described in the manual that describes the firmware upgrades. If the array isn't under continuous monitoring and reporting to HP; I would have the controller logs examined by the service center.
