Re: Disk Array, RAID 5
Check the used market for an FC60 array with 1 SC10 enclosure (which holds up to 10 18Gb drives, or larger ones if you want). You can add additional SC10(s) (up to 6) later on. The FC60 controller can configure RAID 0/1 or RAID 5, whichever you require/desire. At this point, they're extremely dependable, reliable and cheap.

Re: Disk Array, RAID 5
Smart Array cards 5302/5304 are supported on
rx2600. So you can combine, say, ds2300 up to 14 drives JBOD ( Ultra160 and Ultra320 drives)
and such a RAID card.

DS2300 disk system:

If you plan to enlarge storage farm, consider
probably EVA 3000/5000 or VA74xx.

Re: Disk Array, RAID 5
If you don't neet to buy a HP array you should perhaps have a look at the very cheap IDE or ATA RAID systems on the market. I have used such systems (Zero-D 400) on HP-UX Solaris and Windows and never had any problems with them.
