Disk question XP-512

I have three new disk groups I want to use for temporary virtual tape (long story bought MSA1500 not compatible with HP-UX until may, HP gave us this disk until then).

The drives were formatted as OPEN-E (13.893 gig) disks. I want to use all 1.2 TB of space for these virtual tape drives. (disk group = 4-146 gig disks Raid 5 3+1)

What would be the best way to carve up these disks? I plan on striping with the LVM, and creating LUSE's. The question is is how big of LUSE's should I use and is this the best plan?

Any ideas are welcome.
