Disk replacement in Fibre Channel disk array (FC60)
Hi. I have attached the information log generated using mstm utility. From the log, it shows that there are two faulty disks (Ch:ID -1:1 and 1:9) in Enc0. Can I just replace this faulty disk with good one (like the one in 1:10 Enc 0)? Is the disk hot-pluggable? Will the synchronization/mirroring be done automatically after replacement?
Thanks
Rgds,
Leslie

Re: Disk replacement in Fibre Channel disk array (FC60)
Hi Leslie
Yes, disks are hot pluggible and you can replace faulty disk with good one and synchronization/mirroring be done automatically after replacement. How many hot spare disks have been allocated??? If two then there is no issue. You may replace two faulty disks and enclosure will include them automatically. If there is one hot spare configured, there is possibility of data loss.
