Hi:
I want to create a ghost image for our NT4 PDC (ML370) before upgrade to windows 2000 DC.
Can I ghost the image back to the server with no data loss (ie SAM, Hardware RAID information, etc) if upgrade fails?
Thanks

Solution
If your RAID was made through a SmartArray, the RAID configuration don't will be lost (or even changed) during upgrade (or by OS upgrade process).
About the ghost image of your OS: YES ! You can do this and if anything wrong happens during upgrade you can rollback using the image. I suggest before you upgrade NT, create a BDC, promote it to PDC, remove it from network, promote the primary PDC (at this time BDC) back as PDC then upgrade it to W2k (or W2k3), with this you will have a copy of your SAM if the ghost image fail for any reason...

Re: Does GHOST works with RAID ?
You can do this for certain. If your RAID controller or array require any special drivers they will need to be loaded before the restore can happen. A good boot disk should be ready and tested before hand.
