Downgrading 5i Controller Firmware

I am trying to downgrade the 5i controller firmware on a DL580 G2 server to V1.80 from V2.38. I need to do this to mirror a recovery server hardware with that of a production server. I can only find the offline firmware utility for this version and using this prevents firmware from being downgraded. Does anyone know whether an online version of the V1.80 firmware exists or whether it is possible to downgrade f/w with the offline version. This is temporary and plan to upgrade all servers to latest version at earliest opportunity.

Re: Downgrading 5i Controller Firmware

Version 3.09 of the ROMPaq has the v1.80 bios for the 5i controller as an offline bios update. I don't know if it will "downgrade" as I have never done it before using that. Here is the download for the ROMPaq: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13703.html

G'luck! -John
Enjoy!
