Re: EVA 3000 firmware version

The reason your disks were showing up twice on your Windows box is that despite running CV, the box does not have any multipathing S/W installed. If you actually need to use storage from your EVA on the Windows box you'll need both CV and the appropriate MPIO DSM or SecurePath installed.

Re: EVA 3000 firmware version

Command View EVA communicates with the EVA Fibre Channel inband from the Windows server CV is running on.
To be able to do that your CV Windows box does not need to have a LUN presented to!!

If you decide to present a LUN to this Windows system you need the appropriate multipathing solution installed which is MPIO with the DSM I mentioned above!

Great! Thanx'
I thought you were talking about not presenting LUNS to UX or something... Just confused.. ;)

I'm better now..
I downloaded the appropriate MPIO w/DSM.. will give it a shot..

Thanx'

Re: EVA 3000 firmware version

No, no not UX!!

Present the LUNs to HP-UX as needed, OK

Do not present any LUNs to the Windows management server. It just needs to see the EVA but no LUNs! Then your are fine and do not need MPIO.
If you want to use a LUN on the Windows server however you will need MPIO.
Clera now?

Re: EVA 3000 firmware version

Yup.. I got it... Thanx...

That was my original question.. I tried to present to Windows as a test, and saw it saw the LUN as two separate devices...

MPIO will fix that...

Gracias! :)
