I would agree with the last post that as far as support goes - you would probably get as much support as if you had installed the array and left it outside in the rain operating unde a production load.
However, I cant see there being any major problems if you isntall the disks and leave them ungrouped and then perform coad loads on them to get them up to supported firmware levels.
