EVA 4000: Unsupported Drives

What will happen if I install drives that are not supported the EVA 4000 (in terms of firmware version? Will the installation damage the EVA 4000? Thanks in advance.

It might cause a hardware failure, but that it rather unlikely. You could easily loose all your data and warranty and your service provider will not support the system.

I would agree with the last post that as far as support goes - you would probably get as much support as if you had installed the array and left it outside in the rain operating unde a production load.

However, I cant see there being any major problems if you isntall the disks and leave them ungrouped and then perform coad loads on them to get them up to supported firmware levels.
