EVA 4400 09501000 reboot

Hello all!

Are there any known issues rebooting EVA 4400 with this firmware? Also in what document can I read about the procedure?

Thanks Magnus

Hi,
there is the newer version of EVA 4400 controller firmware:

Work with the electricity. Have to shut down EVA and alla servers for a couple of hours.

Re: EVA 4400 09501000 reboot

ok,
HP preferred way is to shutdown it via the Command view EVA. It does the following:
â ¢ Flushes cache
â ¢ Removes power from the controllers
â ¢ Disables cache battery power
â ¢ Removes power from the drive enclosures
â ¢ Disconnects the system from Command View EVA

Yeah thats what I thought. And to startup just hit power on the controllers? And you dont know of any bugs rebooting with this firmware.

Re: EVA 4400 09501000 reboot

Sorry for nit-picking, but isn't the EVA-4400 supposed to shut down the disk drive enclosures _before_ the controllers?

I admit that I have not watched the behaviour during XCS 9.5, yet.

Re: EVA 4400 09501000 reboot

Then
Turn off the circuit breakers on both of the EVA rack power distribution units (PDUs).
Turn off the power switch on the rear of each HSV controller.

power up:
a)fc switches should be fully booted
b)ensure that the power switch on the HSV controllers are off.
c)power on the circuit breakers
d)wait for all disks to come up (aprox. 3 minutes)
e)power on the upper HSV controller (master controller), wait 10 secs
f)power on the lower controller (slave)
g)verify all with Command view EVA

Re: EVA 4400 09501000 reboot

A 4400 does not have an upper/lower controller that can be powered on separately. There is one power button for the whole enclosure and the EVA firmware assigns mastership for controller 1.
