EVA 5000 Event Code: (06 02 00 09)

Does anyone know what this means i keep getting the following eror from the management appliance.

Full Description:

There have been excessive Check Condition events on a disk drive. The WWN and location of the drive are reported in the FRU list. The threshold and contributing events are reported in the Evidence section.

Ive checked the disks through command view and cant see any probs???

The description does not show the status and ASC/ASCQ values, so it is not possible to tell what the problem could be.

I suggest you log a call with HP, send them the controller logs and have them analyze the logs.

We used to get that event code from time to time on our EVA3000s. I had HP check the logs and they said unless we got that event very frequently it was not a real problem.

Also, latest versions of Command View/VCS seem to no longer report that error. We're on CV 6.0 and VCS 3.028.

Check the frequency of the event. If required, run WEBES or napp to analyse the logs.

If the event occurs very frequently (e.g. > 3 events/hr) the disk is close to failing and should be ungrouped and replaced.

I had bad experiences where some of these disks eventually flooded the loop and brought it down....
