EVA 5000 and Loopswitch option.
Hi,
Going from a 2C4D and up you need the loop switch kit(AD553A) 4 x 12 ports. But using HP's salesbuilder you can even chose AD557A. Thats 2 x 12 ports. And checking the config some one made, I missed it.
Is it possible to run an eva 2C8D with only one kit. I know it will reduce availability and redundancy, ect. Or do we have to order another AD557A kit ?

Re: EVA 5000 and Loopswitch option.
Hi,
If you check the quickspec
AD553A is for an EVA5000
AD557A is for an EVA6000
HP is very strict for support issues on EVA storage. So I advise you buy two AD553A loop switches

Re: EVA 5000 and Loopswitch option.
You only need the options once!
AD553A = 4 Switches for EVA5000 and EVA8000
AD557A = 2 Switches for EVA6000
It is not supported to run the EVA5000 with 2 switches only!
Cheers
Peter
