EVA CA and IP Distance Gateway configuration

Hi,

i want to know if a "One pair of gateways, one long distance link" configuration as described in Figure 1 of the following link :

http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en&docId=emr_na-c01294692-1

is working and supported in a EVA CA configuration.

In others words, is a shared WAN link is able to support 2 Fabrics.

Thank you for inputs

Regards

Jean-Pierre

Re: EVA CA and IP Distance Gateway configuration

Absolutely. We run four fabric switches in to a single link.

As indicated in the diagram, you'll need to use FCIP - this will create encapsulation tunnels between sites. Given sufficient licences / FCIP ports / bandwidth, you can have as many fabrics running across a single WAN link as you like.

This is definetly supported with CA Setup but its an inferior solution because there is no redundancy. This especially could create issues when full copy takes place.

OK Thank you,

i agree as a single WAN link may be a bottlenek, but it permits to start a minimal configuration.
