EVA Vdisks disappear to host

Hi,
I've presented some vdisks to some windows servers. Sometimes the servers loose the vdisks and have the following event log:

==========================================
The device 'HP HSV210 SCSI Disk Device' (SCSI\Disk&Ven_HP&Prod_HSV210&Rev_5000\7&2e6d815f&0&000401) disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal.
==========================================

and as the consequence this log:
==========================================
Disk group CameraDg0: Reimport of disk group failed:
The disk group contains no valid configuration copies
==========================================

There is no related log neither on EVA, nor on brocade 4/16 switch. What could be the root cause? Is possible that we have problem with fiber optic cables?

Re: EVA Vdisks disappear to host

The are a lot of things in the middle.

MPIO can also cause this. Try to uninstall it and install the latest version.

The lost of access to vdisks is unlikely due to problems on the SAN as there are 8 paths to an EVA8000.

Also, logs on the EVA need to be cheked in case there are events of "vdisks is stalled too long".

Re: EVA Vdisks disappear to host

Thanks for agile response,

Only one path exists between VDs and clients and I do not use MPIO.

There is no related log on CVEVA.

Re: EVA Vdisks disappear to host

Is there zoning on the san switches, if no then better do it, if yes then recheck the zoning.
also you need to have a multipath software MPIO as mentioned above
