EVA connectivity problem

Yesterday we received a crtical alert that the EVA lost connection to the SMA. HP Enginner checkd it and the EVA8000 is fine. Somehow the SMA wont see the EVA. THe SMA can see all other EVA except this one. 4 ports on the switch are zoned to the SMA. Two of those ports : one shows its and U port and the other is a Loopback port. the other two are still F port.

Any ideas how to fix this ?

Re: EVA connectivity problem

Have you already:

- Restarted Command View?
- Restarted the SMA?
- Performed a "Storage Network Discovery" from Command View?
- Refresh of the storage from Command View?
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: EVA connectivity problem

The other servers can still see the disks in the EVA?. Sometimes the EVA stops communicating with Command View ("storage system is not responding to commands"), and the only solution is to reboot the master controller.
If you don't know which one is the master controller, look in the OCP menu of each controller, they are different.

Re: EVA connectivity problem

Howdy,
Have you tried disabling & re-enabling the SAN switch ports where these EVA host ports plug in?

Do you have more than one EVA?
If so..
Are they zoned so that they can see each other?
If so..
Is Continuous Access actually running at the moment?
