EVA disk replacement best practice
I know that it is OK to replace a failed disk on an EVA whilst levelling is going on.
The question I have, is, is it OK to replace the failed disk (ungrouped) whilst the reconstruction process is going on?
The assumption on my part, would be yes, since the new disk that goes in would be ungrouped anyway. So assumiing it is OK to replace the failed disk whilst the reconstruct process is hapening, is there any issue with grouping it back whilst reconstruction is going on?

Re: EVA disk replacement best practice
Good questions :)
My assumption would be that it would be OK as long as the disk have been removed from the disk group/ldad (an event can be seen in the CEL).. but maybe somebody else can confirm.
I believe hp recommends to not replace it until the reconstruct is completed.
I'll check out when I get into work tomorrow.

Re: EVA disk replacement best practice
Leveling is different from reconstruction.
You can replace a disk while leveling is running, but you should wait if reconstruction is going on.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
