Re: EVA firmware upgrade & patches

From OS side there is no difference what is behind exported LUNs - EVA4100/6100/8100.

Better way is to contact your local HP partner for more information - http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/eva/qa.html#17

also, you may need to update your fibre channel driver (td, fcd or fclp) version.

Re: EVA firmware upgrade & patches

Hi,

Changing from an EVA4100 to an EVA6100 is not a firmware upgrade.

It's a change, or rather addition of 2 loop switches to the EVA, so that you can add further disk enclosures.

Can you confirmm exactly what your upgrade will entail...

Cheers,

Re: EVA firmware upgrade & patches

Its just an EVA upgrade from 4100 to 6100.
The EVA is attached through SAN to unix boxes which have hp-ux 11.11, 11.23 & 11.31 versions

Re: EVA firmware upgrade & patches

Hi,

If you are just upgrading your EVA4100 to an EVA6100, by adding in the loop switches, then you will not need to change anything on the connected hosts. They will not see any difference.

However I suspect, because you mentioned firmware, that you're actually talking about upgrading the XCS code on the EVA from version 5.100 to 6.100...

Cheers,

Rob
