Just in case someone has any experience of this-
As far as i am aware EVA log files get taken from the Array and are then normally fed into an HP Tool called Navigator for analysis once you send them to HP.
However say for example you had to "clean" the logs before you sent them to HP for analysis.
Would anyone have any experience of this?
For example can you convert the log files into text files somehow(which you could then clean/filter) before sending to HP?
Thankfully purely hypothetical at the minute
Many Thanks

Re: EVA logs
The logs gathered from EVA controllers in .idi format are like compressed zip file. Tools like CommandViewEVA's event viewer or HP Navigator is for viewing only. I am afraid that these logs can not be cleaned/tampered or else customer will hide their mistakes and mislead support.

Re: EVA logs
I'm just curious as to what you'd want to "clean" out of the logs...?
Cheers,
Rob

Re: EVA logs
Thanks for your replies thus far.
Some organisations would not allow some of the data that would be included in the logs to leave the organisation. This would even include what you might think would be of no importance - i.e LUN Names
Many Thanks
