We have a customer who has a problem with his EVA. A PSU failure on a disk enclosure is failed intermittently and then it comes online again after a few minutes.
I will have to go to replace the PSU today but I don't know which one is failing :-)
The customer has 4 disk enclosures (2C4D)...
Attached please find the log file. I could decipher which disk enclosure is giving problems from it (disk enclosure 1) but I do not know which PSU.
Any help will be greatly appreciated with points :-)
Vince

Re: EVA4000 disk enclosure PSU failure
** START UNION: ( alarm_error_code - Alarm code ) **
value - As longword: 33686339 [0x02020343]
That decodes to:
ec - Error code: 3 [0x03]
en - Element number: 2 [0x02]
et - Element type code: 2 [0x02]
"Pwr Supply load balance error; replace the power supply now". On enclosure 2.
Can you export the events with "get log file" and attach them compressed here?

Power supply 2 is the left one, looking at the enclosure from behind.
By the way, firmware 6000 is out of support since December 31, 2007. You should plan an update to 6220.

Re: EVA4000 disk enclosure PSU failure
Can you confirm that I have to replace PSU 2 on the right or on the left?
Thanks,
Vince

Re: EVA4000 disk enclosure PSU failure
I've looked into the HW config guide and the PS/blower replacement guide from 2005/2006 and both agree that PS2 is on the right side when looking at he enclosure's rear.
