EVA4400-MPIO DSM 3.01-Windows 2003 Cluster

I have problem with EVA 4400 and Windows 2003 Cluster. I thing it is MPIO DSM. I could not present a Clusterresource (physical Disk).
In the diskmanager I can display all EVA LUN. I formated the basic disk and they have a driveletter. The hpprutil display none reservation.

Re: EVA4400-MPIO DSM 3.01-Windows 2003 Cluster

Hi,
does it apply to all cluster nodes? because the MSCS is shared nothing conceipt - so only 1 cluster node is owning the disk resource
the pain is one part of the reality

Re: EVA4400-MPIO DSM 3.01-Windows 2003 Cluster

I know, that only one server (the owner) display the LUN. But I have tested with only one Node, because with 4 Nodes, doesnt work. I installed a new cluster and tested with one Node.

Re: EVA4400-MPIO DSM 3.01-Windows 2003 Cluster

so after the EVA presentation the luns are nicely visible on the host only once (because of the MPIO), so you can create/format a partition and assign the drive letter, but you are unable to add them to the MSCS disk resource pls?

could you check if you have all relevant MSCS/MPIO/OS patches applied (e.g. patch which fix the problem of that MSCS is originaly using the SCSI-2 commands and MPIO SCSI-3)?

Re: EVA4400-MPIO DSM 3.01-Windows 2003 Cluster

I have tested without MPIO (only one Path). I have the the same problems. I boot from SAN. The systempartition is available on the same Controller. It is possible the problem?

Re: EVA4400-MPIO DSM 3.01-Windows 2003 Cluster

Do you use the SCSIport or the STORport driver?
The SCSIport does not allow the mapping of the system/boot device and a shared disk on the same adapter.

I thing, I have the solution.
"Boot from SAN Cluster Registry Update utility" "BFSClRegUp.zip (16 KB)"
