EVA4400 w/8Gb switch Unknown Host Port Speed
An EVA4400 with embedded 8Gb B-series switch does not display correct speed in CV 8.02. The controller ports are internally connected to embedded switch ports 0 an 11, which are set to 4Gb. When EVA is started all host ports are displayed as "Unknown" speed. If you tricle the port speed in B-series switches from 4 to 2 Gb and then back the port 0 connected controller ports negotiate the speed fine and display the speed correctly in CV. With switch port 11, the ctrl port does not come up with any other than 4Gb and then it may flap with No_sync while switch displays the port mode being change between U_port and G_port and does to fix to F_port.
If I just set the speed to 4Gb, the ctrl's display Unknown speed, but I suppose the speed is actually negotiated fine (from switch side atleast). With EVA4400 without embedded switch the same issues does go away when fixing the speed, but with embedded switch it doesn't. This is with fw 09006000.
Anyone noticed the same annoyance? See attachment...

Re: EVA4400 w/8Gb switch Unknown Host Port Speed
This is a known issue when the switch port is set to autonegotiate.
Scheduled to be fixed on next firmware release (expected next month).
Another issue you might encounter is that the HSV300-S needs specific SFPs: 4Gb SFPs (AJ715A) or 8 Gb SFPs (AJ716A).

Re: EVA4400 w/8Gb switch Unknown Host Port Speed
vcespon,
the ports are already set to fixed 4Gb, not autonegotiate N4. And as it's embedded switch - no possibility of changing SFP's.

Re: EVA4400 w/8Gb switch Unknown Host Port Speed
Anyway, wait for next firmware, it will change the way the chips report the FC port status.
