EVA6000-HSV200 capacity limits?

I have a customer with an EVA6000 (HSV200, not HSV200-A) running XCS6.220.
Apparently they were told by an HP rep that there was a fixed TB limit to the EVA regardless of the drive capacity/quantity. So if I filled it with 1TB drives they would only be able to recognize 50ish TB.
The max mappable for this is 120TB AKAIK. Is this a simple misunderstanding since the quickspec has not been updated since 2006 or is there something to this? I've read every doc available for the system but can find no reference to it. I think it's incorrect but would like someone to clarify. Thanks in advance.

Also, CV-EVA is unlimited licensed.

Hi,

If you search the forums for "mapping limit" you'll find a few references to this.

The HSV200s have a limit of 70TB.

Re: EVA6000-HSV200 capacity limits?

Correcting myself, the Quickspecs for the EVA6100/EVA8100 here:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12745_na/12745_na.pdf

do reference this. On page 13, it states as you thought that the addressable limit of an EVA6000 is 120GB.

Someone will probably clarify, but I guess the addressable limits changed with different versions of XCS.

Cheers,

Thanks. I wanted to verify that XCS 6.220 limit was 120TB.
