Embedded SAN switch on MSA1000
Hi,
Does the embedded 8 port brocade switch on MSA1000 (HP StorageWorks MSA SAN Switch 2/8/B-Series) support 3rd party storage arrays? In other words, is this switch dedicated for MSA1000 connectivity only or can it be used as a standard brocade SAN switch which is connected to a non-HP storage array?
Many thanks,
Mehmet

Re: Embedded SAN switch on MSA1000
Hi Mehmet,
It can support other devices connected to it. As for the 3rd party storage arrays are concerned, if it is compatible with Brocade it will work. However Hp does not recommend such connectivity.

Re: Embedded SAN switch on MSA1000
thank you for your reply. This will be a temporary configuration for migrating the data from MSA1000 to a non-HP array using a host based software. So I see that this will solve our concern.
Regards,
Mehmet
