Operating system is Redhat EL4. Please help.
vgscan output:
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...
/dev/sdb: read failed after 0 of 4096 at 0: Input/output error
/dev/sdb: read failed after 0 of 4096 at 214748299264: Input/output error
/dev/sdb: read failed after 0 of 4096 at 0: Input/output error
Found volume group "EFGPROD" using metadata type lvm2

Re: Error when doing VGSCAN
hi,
the presented vdisk from EVA contain some lvm information ??? What did you made ??? Did you migrate a lun ( cdisk ) from another sevrer ???
if yes why you dont use vgexport / vgimport instead of vgscan.
