Eva with Data Protector

hi!!

i need integrate eva 5000 with DP 6, but i I do not find specific information, how doing it step-by-step? i have the minimum requeriments.

Hi
1. Find two same type of servers
2. install autopath on both servers (Active- pasive)
3. Connect the two systems on the EVA array connected switch.
4. Open the EVA array GUI.
5. Select the Host and create a folder.Within this folder add your application and backup host (Usin your port WWN number)
6. Then go to the Disks.Create a folder.In this folder create luns and present to the application host.Give the lun id more then 100.
EVA side is now ok
7. In DP 6.0 add your application and backup host
Start your work

I have the configuration that you say but my question is:
from data protector i want to make scheduled backup but i want that the EVA do it how can i tell EVA to do it?

I really didn't understand your question, but I'm guessing that what you're looking for is Data Protector Integration with EVA Business Copy (using snapclones and snapshots)... Am i right?

Revisa los siguientes documentos:

en la página 125 se describe el procedimiento.

De cualquier manera, tienes que tomar en cuenta que necesitarás las licencias adecuadas para realizarlo, en este caso tendrás que tener licencia de Business Copy para EVA y la licencia para snapshots de Data Protector.

Yo tengo las licencias necesarias, y ya revise el documento que me indicas, y he estado buscando el de la versión 6.0 ya que cuando intente hacerlo hay algunas diferencias y estoy suponiendo que es por la version de data protector. Tu sabrás dónde puedo hayar esta misma información pero de la version reciente de data protector?

Hola yolanda,
Lamentablemente no hay mucha documentacion para la versión 6 ya que esta no tiene mucho tiempo de ser liberada, en teoría el procedimiento es similar. Dejame ver si encuentro informacion mas reciente al respecto aunque te recomendaría que te familizaras mas con business copy antes de proceder.

He estado revisando los manuales y ahora tengo solo una duda.

Para poder hacer la integración data protector-Eva, se necesita tener una base de datos? o también puedo respaldar servidores de archivos compartidos?
