Event Log Errors CPQARRAY

I have a Proliant 3000 running NT4 with a smart2DH array controller and 5 disks. For the last week, there has been an error message in the event log, occurring hourly. The message is "the device \device\scsiport0 did not respond within the timeout period" This prevents access to an SQL Server 7 database. I cant see any errors in insight manager and everything is ok the rest of the time. The firmware is 2.14 on the smart2DH. Is the controller doing something at these hourly intervals and if so what can I do to stop the impact on my system?
