Expand Array
How to expand disk array by adding new disk to disk array on linux RHEL operating system? We can do this on windows by using diskpart command utility. For example;one disk size = 300 GB.. i have raid 5 with 3 disks of that total size is 600 GB (/dev/sda1) and then add one new disk (300 GB) to this array.i want to expand /dev/sda1 partition size to new size that is 900 GB.How can do this without lost data that is on disks..Thanks.

Re: Expand Array
I'm not sure if Linux can extend its partition table. I have not tested. If possible, you should use LVM, extend your disk, reboot, use pvresize (last time I tried won't worked yet this command).
So, I think that is better if you expand the array and create a new lun. Use this lun as you would use any other disk, if you use LVM, you can add this lun to your VG.
I will try to reproduce this scenario on my virtual pc and let you know.

Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?
