Expanding Smart Array 3200

I added a new drive to my Smart Array 3200 and used the ACU to expand my raid array. The online ACU configured the logical drive and shows the new size, although the physical drive space has not changed. How to I realize actual space when I view the drives in Windows?

Karen:
What version of Windows are you using?
Enjoy!

Re: Expanding Smart Array 3200

Hello,

I'm in the motion of doing the same exact thing. I'm going to purchase a SA3200 to expand my VOL's. Please tell me how you got to where you are.

Thanks
Glen

Re: Expanding Smart Array 3200

Hi Karen:

I had posted a response to you question in the other thread...

NT does not natively support logical expansion like this. You could create a new drive in the additional space.

Alternatively, you could use a third party software such as Volume Manager ( http://sea.symantec.com/content/product.cfm?productid=7 ) to do what you need to accomplish.

Hope this helps.
Enjoy!
