FATA 1TB refurbished experiences

anyone using EVA4400 has bought 1TB FATA disk drive refurbished ?

Hello,

please avoid 1TB Fata drives for EVA as fast as you can. They have terrible performance (better said no performance), they durability is even worse. We have 8 of them in our EVA, 5 of them we replaced during 3 years period. Whats is even worst - they could criple whole EVA performance by eating whole cache during really funny coping operations, nothing special form IO point of view.

I've replaced about 20 of the 1TB FATA drives in my two EVA6100s over the past four years.  I wouldn't do refurb if I were you.  If you're driving those drives hard (not using them as Near-Online) you'll liable to see a higher rate of failure.  Just my 2 cents.
