Is it harmfull to switch off the FC-60 and SC-10 Disk enclouser after the configuration. What is the battery backup for FC-60 and SC-10.
I swithced off my SC-10 for more than 8 hours and lost all the configuration. ?? Is it just because of Power off ??
Regards

SolutionTo power up FC60,
1. Power up each SC10 first
2. wait for 2 minutes.
3. Power up FC60, controller enclosure.
To power down FC60,
1. stop all I/Os fdrom the host to the disk array.
2. wait for the fast write cache LED to go off, indicating that all data in cache has been written to the disks.
3. Power down FC60
4. Power down each SC10.
In the case of using a single cabinet for both FC60 and SC10(s), stop all I/O to the disk array and then wait 2 minutes for all cache data to be written to disk before shutting off power.
The fast write cache LED will remain off when all cache data is written.
When the disk array controller is powered up, it checks for the presence of the disks in the disk enclosure.
If the disk enclosure has not yet been powered on, the controller will not detect the disks. This will result in no LUNs apprearing because none of the disks are visible to the disk array controller.
In this case, it will need necessary to power down the disk array and power it up again on the proper sequence.
To the conclusion, I suspect that you didn't follow the proper power on/off sequence, consequently no LUNs are seen by the disk array controller.
Hope this helps,

Re: FC-60 Contoller and SC-10 Disk enclouser Opwer off.
So, practically nothing should happen for switching off the SC10.
