Formatting autoraid disks

Hello everybody!

Last week I did a reorganization on a K370 Server that had 10 disks (9.1 Gb) and two (18.2 Gb), I was needing more space and after performe a complete backup and delete mostly of the luns I exchange two 9.1Gb disks by 2 18.2Gb new disks, so now I have 8 disks (9.1 Gb) and 4 (18.2Gb) on the autoraid. The two disks that I take off I want to add them to another K370 that has two free locations on its autoraid, when I tried to do it I had the follow message:
"Warning: Disk previously used:", this disk is exclude.

What am I need to do in order to use those disks, am I need to format it?

Thanks in advance

Re: Formatting autoraid disks

Hello
I found a hit from Knowledgemine. read it and hope it helps you.

------------------------------------------
Problem Description

I added a disk drive to AutoRAID array 1, removed the disk drive,
and then added it to AutoRAID array 2. Now, syslog contains this
message:

disk previously used by other array

How do I change the disk drive to AutoRAID 2?

Configuration Info

Operating System - HP-UX
Version - 10.20
Hardware System - HP9000

Solution

Use this command to get the serial number:

/opt/hparray/bin/arraydsp -i

In this case, a drive with serial number 000000137670 was shown
in slot B3.

Use this command to remove the drive from the previous location:

/opt/hparray/bin/arraycfg -D B3 -d -R 000000137670

Never say "no" first.
