Formatting drives
Using NT4, SP6, and all the latest Compaq drivers, SSD, formatting NTFS partitions with this controller took literally just a few seconds ! This doesn't seem possible? I also formatted with and without array acelleration. I got similar format times. I'm puzzled. How can this be? WHen formatting with other Smart Array controllers I get "normal" format times...just wondering...

Re: Formatting drives
During an initial so install formatting of the he's on array controller may vary based up scsi protocol being used, cables and he's also [be 5300 (u3 protocol) running (u3 10k drives) using the blue and white u3 cable] a format will be quicker than that of a scsi 3 controller be 2dh connected to scsi 3 10k drives, however I've found that formating drives using disk administrator take next to no time at all if using quick format as opppsed to a standard conditional format.
