GetEventFileSC

Hi,

Does anyone know how to read this file?

Can CommandView EVA read it? Does it provide more information than CV event log?

Thanks in advance.

Re: GetEventFileSC

A tool called HP Navigator is used to read it but unfortunately it's HP internal tool.

Re: GetEventFileSC

In Command View you can view the controller event log, there's a "details" button on each event. There you can see more information about each event.

Of course using HP internal tools let's you see more and makes it easier to sort or filter the events.

Re: GetEventFileSC

Is HP Navigator available to the EVA customers?
Is this the only tool which can be used?

What more information one can get using Navigator compare to CV controller event log details?

Thanks

True, but real EVA troubleshooting is not easy and should be done by people who do this daily. In most cases the EVA is under support by HP anyway, so give the file to the specialists
and do something better with your own time ;-)

Navigator is internal tool and can't given to Customers.

Re: GetEventFileSC

I work for a HP Reseller who has PSP status which gives us access to Navigator. If your reseller is a PSP for HP then they should have access to Navigator and might be able to help.

Though as someone said before, let the experts who do it all the time diagnose the problem.

Re: GetEventFileSC

Too bad as there is no facility given atleast to read the file. I do understand that it would require an expert to make a sense of it but I just wanted to read it.

I guess it's not even possible to read it using another CV EVA, right?

Our reseller doesn't have PSP status so no help there.

Re: GetEventFileSC

hi, a great deal of the information is sent in real time to the nt application log on the CV server and can then be decoded from the SEA component of WEBES this will show you most of what Navigator shows, although it will take a while to get to grips with this free tool so may not be of use as a one off.

It's not really free, is it?
If you read the 'fine print' you will see that you are only allowed to use it if a service obligation (warranty or contract) exist. In that case you can call the experts anyway ;-)
