Getting "204: Array Controller Failure" error

The error I am getting is "External Array controller attached to embedded array controller is no longer redundant because the inter-controller link has failed"

We have two ProLiant DL380 G3s with a Smart Array attached for our Exchange servers. I am taking this to mean the controller in one of the ProLiants attached to the SmartArray has gone down.

My question is, does this warrant hardware replacement or is there other options before I go that route? (i.e. power cycle, battery replacement) Thanks for any help in advance.
