HDD Redundancy testing in MSA P2000 G3 Storage

We had the UAT of HP P2000 G3 MSA FC Storage HDDs redundancy test in RAID 10 yesterday. At UAT we were facing a problem in testing. When we unplugged the one HDD from raid and replugged it Data was intact but the replugged HDD was showing leftover it didn't came in Raid automatically again thus I had to run clear metadata of that disk and after had to add it manually.

Thus please suggest how to activate auto-rebuild of raid in storage. And what should be test cases in this scenario if auto-rebuild feature is not available in Storage HP P-2000 G3 MSA.

IIRC what you have seen is normal. It should begin to rebuild to a spare if the disk has "failed"; but if you reinsert the disk you need to make it a new spare.

Hope this helps!

Since you are inserting used drive you have to remove metadata before used in P2000. If you have insert a new unused hard drive you have to make it a spare drive. Then MSA will start rebuiling to replaced drive. If you have already allocated spare hard drive your new drive remains as spare drive.
I have not found a method to automatically rebuild data in to replaced drive on P2000.
