Re: HP Autoraid 12H: Error message in syslog.log - what should i do?

Hi,

The 'lbolt' errors are generally considered to be a timeout issue from the server to the autoraid (in your case). I suggest you increase the 'pvtimeout' value for your disks to 180 seconds. Have a look at the man page for 'pvtimeout' using the -t option.

Cheers

Re: HP Autoraid 12H: Error message in syslog.log - what should i do?

hi ~Michael~

Thank you for the reply.

My HP server does not seem to have the command you referred to!
---------------------------------------------
L1000: d01/app/oracle/admin/cmtdb/bdump>man pvtimeout
No manual entry for pvtimeout.
---------------------------------------------

Also, wanted to know about its impact on performance? I got it only once and it has not repeated itself till now.. Will it be a good idea to make a "major" change in the system?

Also note that it happed very late at night where there is very little activity on the server.

Thank you for your time and reply
Best Regards
