HP EVA, Solaris, Veritas Cluster
has anyone successfully configured a Solaris box w/Sun adapters (Qlogic) to an EVA without using Secure Path? If you did, what did you do to stop Veritas from getting confused with two paths to the volumes? thanks

Bob,
see http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/enterprise/documentation.html , document on solaris kit 2.0 release notes at ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/storageworks/techdoc/enterprise/AA-RR0EB-TE.pdf , it lists Veritas Cluster 1.3. Qlogics are in the list!

Re: HP EVA, Solaris, Veritas Cluster
Bob,
As I now with EVA you must use Multibus failover mode and that means that you will have multiple paths between LUN and Host. OS must handle this (Like Tru64 or Open VMS) or you must install Secure Path if OS is not supporting this (Windows, Novell, Solaris,...).
One of the main features of Secure Path is multi pathing support.
I thing that without Secure Path you will allways have problem with multiple paths since this is limitation of Solaris OS.

Re: HP EVA, Solaris, Veritas Cluster
Bob,
it is posissible, but You must configure environment for single connection.
In zonin You must have only one port from one HSV controller and one FC HBA from Solaris server, othervise with dual path for LUN Solaris can't work without SecurePath.
