HP P2000 G3 having issue with raid
Hi,
We have HP P2000 G3 array and enclosures in SAN enviornment. We have vdisk of 12 disks in a box with raid 6 with 1 hot spare (raid 6 with 11 disks and 1 hot spare). Now we have taken out one disk (2.1) and it started building in hot spare now when spare disk was getting build, we have taken out one more disk,(2.4). Because of this, spare which was building changed its state from building to leftover state. We cleared metadata of that spare disk (2.12) and added it as hot spare again, but now it is not building anything in it. Also we tried inserting those two disks (2.1 and 2.4) again, but after inserting those two disks and clearing metadata on those two disks, it beacme available, but we are not able to add those disks to vdisk again; and now our vdisk is of only 9 disks, it should have been of 11 disks. (2 are available, one as hot spare and 9 data disks.) How to add those two disks in raid again?

Re: HP P2000 G3 having issue with raid
Have you called HP support?
They should be able to help with this issue.
It may be a firmware issue, as well. HP will probably want you to upgrade FW if you are behind.

Re: HP P2000 G3 having issue with raid
Recently HP has released guided troubleshooting for MSA/P2000 and it has some good content available for troubleshooting leftover drives. You may go through that and contact HP support with details. Link to guided troubleshooting is:
