HP ProLiant DL380 G3 Packaged Cluster with MSA500 problems with 300 GB HDD

Hi All,

We have HP ProLiant DL380 Generation 3 (G3) Packaged Cluster with MSA500. Firmware Version: 1.90 (A). We add 5 new 300 GB HDD, and now we have a message on controller:
88 NO COMPAQ MP INIT
BOX #1, BAY 10 and so on till BAY 14, and on all HDD RED (failure) led in on, and windows sometimes loos partitions, which created on this drives.

Please help.

Disk model?

MSA500 supports these:

300-GB 10,000 rpm U320 Universal Hard Drive (1") 350964-B22

The message means that the controllers could not write m&p (monitoring and performance) stamp on the drive.

We have the same model of HDD, how can we avoid this message and red faulty led?

Hello Max,

have you verified that those disks are supported with MSA500? Have you the PN of the disks drives? I have a customer which has also 300 GB drives in a MSA500, but maybe those firmware is newer.
