HP StorageWorks MSA60 compatibility with a Smart Array P421i?
We have several MSA60 units with 3Gb/s SAS interfaces that we'd like to connect to a Smart Array P421i controller if it's compatible? Does anyone know if this combination of hardware works?
Currently the MSA60's are connected via a SA P800 card in a DL360 G5, but I've been advised that they're incompatible with the new servers we're proposing to get (DL380p Gen8) as they're PCIe 3.0 and the P800 is PCIe 2.5. I know that the SA P421i has 2 mini SAS ports like the P800, and the QuickSpecs of the P421i say that it's SAS 3.0Gb/s backwards compatible... but would it work?
I'd love to know if anyone has tried this combination of hardware and whether it would work or not?
Many thanks!
