HP-UX 11.11, SecurePath 3F-SP3

If i add LUN to secure path, and if i reboot the box, and if i say "autopath display", it says "AUTOPATH : no SecurePath device found"

I have execute the command "autopath discover ON".

But still no use, every time i have to run the command "autopath discover" every time i boot the box.

Anyone tell me how to made this permanently ?

Hi,

We face the same issue.

Only workaround we found was to run ioscan again before you run
autopath display

May be our HP gurus can put some light on this issue/limitation.

Re: HP-UX 11.11, SecurePath 3F-SP3

Hi Shashi,

Can you tell me how do you add a LUN to secure path? Its been a long time since I have worked on secure path. But below is what the manual says.

The changes to the configuration settings performed by the following commands are persistent across system reboots and Secure Path upgrades:
├в ┬в spmgr add
├в ┬в spmgr clean
├в ┬в spmgr delete
├в ┬в spmgr log
├в ┬в spmgr prefer
├в ┬в spmgr set
├в ┬в spmgr unprefer

So I guess if you are using "spmgr add" to add a LUN, it should stay there even after a reboot.

spmgr is for Active-passive arrays.

i am using "autopath". Everything i am doing according to the manual.

Re: HP-UX 11.11, SecurePath 3F-SP3

So that means, even though you have run the command "autopath discover ON", its not persistent across reboots & hence you need to do an "autopath discover" after every reboot. Isn't there any way by which you can add the "autopath discover ON" command in the system startup scripts?

Re: HP-UX 11.11, SecurePath 3F-SP3

vihang,

shashi is using a newer version of secure path.

In SecurePath 3F-SP3 there is no spmgr instead autopath is there...

#autopath discover/display
:-)

shashi,

vihang's suggestion is good here...to add autopath discover in startup.
