HP recommended share LUN soln?

Hi,

Is there a recommend soln to having muliple win2k hosts sharing one or more LUNs from a SAN attached Array?

You can share LUNs (generally - disks) within W2K operating system only when hosts have MS clustering services installed and disks are configured to be a cluster disks.
Otherwise you should mask LUN from all the hosts except one which needs to access this LUN

Is Clustering a sensible way to share a disk lun for file serving (ie load balancing large file downloads from one array via multiple hosts? Does it manage file locking between the hosts when writes occur?

I had begun to get the impression that third party products like SANergy were necessary to share LUNs, is this incorrect?
