Re: HP9000 N4000 and MA8000 storage

Dennis,
I suggest you do a 'SHOW CONNECTIONS' on the MA8000 and check the setting for 'Operating System'. I think the default is 'Windows' (what else?). Set it to 'HP_VSA' if possible, else 'HP'.

Set to HP or HP_VSA makes no difference.

Re: HP9000 N4000 and MA8000 storage

Did you reboot the servers and do a new IOSCAN after the connection characteristic was changed? It looks like you are running with SCSI-2 and the CCL disabled, correct?. Is this a single or dual-controller configuration? Are there units D0, D1, D2, D3 or D4? defined?

Can you try and set the UNIT_OFFSET of the connection to 5, so that the first unit is mapped to LUN 0?

Re: HP9000 N4000 and MA8000 storage

Dennis,
there is a note in the 'Installation and Configuration Guide' that says: "LUNs created on the Array must be assigned consecutively starting with LUN 0".

What I don't understand is that the CCL is not visible. I have a little experience with EVA & HP-UX and I can see the CCL there.
