HPE D2700 JBOD enclosure and Storage Spaces Direct
I have been attempting to build a 2 node Windows Server 2016 Hyper Converged Cluster using Storage Spaces Direct. Each node has a D2700 25 bay JBOD enclosure directly connected through a HP branded H221 card (LSI SAS9207-8E). Single SAS connection as S2D does not support MPIO. So, two servers, two disk enclosures. Server1 has a single SAS connection to Enclosure1 and Server2 has a single SAS connection to Enclosure2. The two enclosures are not connected to eachother in any way.
When I run the cluster validation report it shows this error:
"Enclosure HP D2700 SAS AJ941A connected to node SERVER1 has the same unique identifier with enclosure HP D2700 SAS AJ941A connected to node SERVER2."
I've done firmware updates using the latest SUM.
Are these D2700 chassis simply not supported by S2D? In the Microsoft hardware compatibility for S2D it does clearly state "Any direct-attached storage enclosures must present Unique ID". Anyone know if this unique ID can be influenced?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi,
D2700 drive enclosures do not support S2D.
Regards,
