HSG80

Does anyone know if an HSG80 will support the new 300GB disks?

Re: HSG80

Milton:

There have been many people wondering if there would be support for the 300GB disks on an HSG80 based Fibre Array.

The lastest matrix available on the HP web site... http://h200001.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00257901/c00257901.pdf only claims the 146GB drive as "supported". This is the only document that I know of, but there might be others as this one is from October 2004. Since the HSG80 is EoL, HP is not likely to put out any more updates to the docs.

Now, will the drives work? I can not say for sure as I have not had the oppurtunity to test out the theory, but i am sure others have. I would think they would work, but there is no guarantee.

Re: HSG80

ACS V8.8 has a 1TB storage-set size limitation. There is also a note in at least some installation guides (haven't checked them all ;-):

""Note: HSG60 and HSG80 array controllers do not support greater than
146 GB. This restriction is enforced by the firmware."
