Hardware Raid 1

I have two mirrored arrays "A", and "B" (4 physical disks), each array has two equal drives. Once I have the Server configured, with OS I want to save that configuration, so that in the event I need to reinstall the OS I can do so quickly. I would like to remove one of the "system partition" containing physical disks for this purpose. How can I best acconmplish this ?

Re: Hardware Raid 1

Compaq does not recommend this method of fault tollerance or backup with any of its Smart controllers. Some customers have successfully accomplished this method by removing an entire Array. It cannot be done by removing only one of the drives in the Array. The entire Array A or B has to be removed and then the ACU has to accessed and the Array that was removed have to be deleted to remove any errors or complaints coming from the Array controller that the Array is missing. This is not a Compaq recommended method but method has been doneonly in the above mentioned step at best effort.
