How do I find hot LUNs on a VA7400 or VA7100 using command view...
Is there a way to find a hot lun on the host...

Re: Hot LUN

There's a performance analysis page on CV. It's the last tab on the right.

No matter where you go, there you are.

Re: Hot LUN

All the data in CV Performance is historic. Click the "Modify View" and "open Settings" buttons to configure it. There is online help there, too. (hit the "?" in the upper-right of the window)

You can also analyse the performance of your disk systems via "sar". See the "sar" man page for details. Basically "sar -d" will give per-disk performance, and you can view data collected for the last 30 days (if you are collecting data).

If you don't think you're collecting data, check the man pages for "sadc".

Good luck

Re: Hot LUN

ioscan -fnC disk

will show the location, address, and /dev/rdsk name for all your disk devices. A VA7100 is noted as a A6188A and the 7400 is A6189A, if I remember correctly (yes, these numbers even confuse us sometimes!) I'm postitve of the last 2-3 digits (88A, 89A), though.

If you have trouble locating the devices, run the above command and post the output here. We'll tell you which they are.
