Hi,

If you read the QuickSpecs here:

http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12236_div/12236_div.HTML

you'll see that the EVA8000 can support up to 240 physical disks. As far as I'm aware there's no limitation on the number of disks in a group, so you should be able to go up to that maximum.

Although you don't have to, it's recommended that you install disks in pairs.

Read the EVA4/6/8x00 best practice whitepaper. It will tell you everything including number of disks in a group,RAID levels etc
