Currently we have an EVA 4400 with 2 M6412 drive enclosures. We plan to add another one M6412 drive enclosure.
Is some manual how we can do it without lose of data.
Thanks in advance,
BR,
Max

Re: How to add addional disk cage for the EVA 4400
in last section of this document we can see the alternate enclosure cabling with 4 enclosures (2 under the controllers and 2 upon the controllers. please see attachment for details) currently we have 2 disk enclosures under the controllers enclosure, can we add one disk enclosure upon the controllers?

Re: How to add addional disk cage for the EVA 4400
So there will be no problem adding only a single drive enclosure, to an existing configuration with two drive-enclosures.
The diagrams suggest how to run the cables in a way that anyone can easily follow the order of the connections.
the things to take into account is
- start at one controller
- daisy-chain through all driver enclosures
- end up at the other controller.
- do this twice (for both paths)
- don't "stretch" the cables (use correct length).

Re: How to add addional disk cage for the EVA 4400
We add new disk enclosure, and EVA did not start up, after that. No any errors and red leds on front plane and backplane.
We start new tread about this problem:

When we remove this new enclosure, EVA start up is normal.
Please help.
Thanks in advance,

Max
